Demineralization Plants (DM)

Impurities Dissolved solids, minerals, and hardness in water are removed by a process called demineralization of water. The process works on the ion-exchange theory. It is completely free of dissolved minerals as a result of one of the processes. It is a fast process that does not require scale buildup.

Description
The DM plant comprises of strong acid cation, strong base anion, and mixed bed unit. Naturally, occurring Water has various salts in the dilute form which are called dissolved solids. When the Water having such mineral is required to be free from this, it is to be treated in the Ion Exchange Resins column (H form) which adsorbs the positively charged ion. Now the cations free pass through Anion Resin Column (OH form) which adsorbs the negatively charged anions and Water free from the total ions shall come out from the system.
FUNCTIONALITY
Ions released by an ion-exchange resin replace contaminant ions in the water in a quick and reversible process known as ion exchange. The resin absorbs the impurity ions and needs to regenerate on a regular basis to return to its original ionic state. An atom or collection of charged atoms is called an ion. Negatively charged ions are known as anions and are typically non-metals, whereas positively charged ions are known as cations and are typically metals. Deionization yields high-purity water (deionized water), which is often comparable to distilled water because dissolved salts make up the bulk of water contaminants. The procedure is rapid and does not generate scale building.
